Jun 26,  · this was the one and only release of the debut lp by magazine in japan, magazine was formed by howard devoto after he left the buzzcocks by mid , anyway this is the best record they ever did i feel and this japan edition is very very rare especially to find with the obi strip, this comes with a lyric sheet with lyrics in english and on the other side of the sheet an essay on magazine in /5().

The music extremely catchy with its innovative sound - the lead singer, Howard Devoto, sounds like some crazed pedophile. The lyrics are extremely witty yet accessible. The album has a killer opener in Definitive Gaze/5(99).

  7. Starts the album with a synth sounding bass and awesome organ sweeps in the background. Howard Devoto sounds like a madman as usual and when he sings "So this is real life." I feel like I know exactly what he is talking about. You may not even notice that there is a guitar in this song your first time you hear this, speaking from experience.
